Approximately2,000 more homes and businesses in Werrington[AG1] can now benefit from Gigabit broadband speeds thanks to broadband provider LightSpeed, in an effort to increase internet connection quality in the county's suburban[AG2] areas.

LightSpeed’s upgrades will offer speeds of up to 2Gbps (2,000Mbps) ensuring that residents can enjoy broadband speeds that meet their daily internet needs. With current packages in the area offering average speeds as low as 10Mbps, according to BroadbandExposed, LightSpeed’s offerings will allow customers to experience all the benefits of lightning-fast broadband.

Bypassing traditional copper wires that deliver broadband which can be slow and unreliable, LightSpeed is providing FTTP (Fibre to the Premises) broadband which uses fiber optic cables to deliver a broadband connection directly to a home or business. With the provider utilising the latest telecoms technology, customers in the area will be futureproofed with a connection that keeps up with the changing ways we use the internet.

Werrington joins fellow West Midlands towns Kidsgrove, Tamworth and Blythe Bridge[AG3] on the LightSpeed network, which aims to bolster Gigabit broadband coverage in the region’s underserved towns.

With prices starting from £25.99, customers can choose from a range of packages that best suit their internet usage.

Alongside broadband offerings, LightSpeed also offers home security products to help residents increase the safety of their properties for peace of mind with partner SimpliSafe. Additionally, residents can upgrade landline phones to the provider’s Digital Voice product ahead of the landline switch-off set for early 2027.

Brett Shepherd, CEO at LightSpeed, says: "We’re thrilled to bring ultra-fast broadband to Werrington to support the way people stay connected. Whether it’s bustling households or growing businesses, LightSpeed delivers an unrivalled experience with fast and reliable internet access.

"We’re excited to see Werrington residents embrace the new opportunities this connectivity offers and welcome our first customers to their new seamless digital experience”.
