 About the Role:

This will be a cross-functional role working across both the Network Build and Operational Teams. You will be part of a team that are collectively responsible for ensuring the PIA standards and H&S Best Practices across the organisation. You will also be responsible for auditing, coaching and developing LightSpeed’s engineers across the Network Build, Customer Maintenace and Installation Space as well as working on Quality Assurance and Compliance initiatives.  

The role requires you to be physically fit to lift joint box covers and climb telegraph poles, working in all weathers all year round.  

What we need you to do: 

  • Ensure and monitor effective site operations and coordination of works compliant to the LightSpeed specifications, NRSWA and Health & Safety requirements. 

  • Ensure all work on site is carried out to adequate standards as stated in contractual specification by conducting in progress and retrospective site audits using iAuditor in line with key KPI’s. 

  • Monitoring, diagnosing and troubleshooting network and infrastructure faults and performance. 

  • Ensure any “defects” identified are reported and rectified with the relevant supporting documentation evidencing the fix. 

  • Support LightSpeed teams and build partners ensuring issues within the network are rectified quickly and efficiently whist ensuring H&S is at the forefront of everything the field engineers do. 

  • Support the Health and Safety, Environment and Quality Management functions with any work programmes, working with stakeholders to deliver on time, safely and to standard. 

  • Work with Key Stakeholders to coach and develop LightSpeed’s engineers to ensure activities are carried out in line with best practice techniques.  

  • Support with producing and reviewing process and policy documentation. 

  • Promote PIA standards throughout LightSpeed. 

 What we need from you: 

  • Telecoms Network Build, Customer Installation/ Maintenance Experience. 

  • PIA Accreditations; SA001, SA002, S5, S006, S7, S8, S009, N23 

  • A good working knowledge of PIA standards and working in Openreach infrastructure. 

  • Attention to detail. 

  • Experience of managing contracted engineering works. 

  • Fibre Optics Splicing & OTDR testing experience. 

  • An understanding of method statements and risk assessments. 

  • Valid NRSWA Streetworks. 

  • Desirable -  Working knowledge of DepotNet, Salesforce, Vitruvi, Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint, training to be given. 

  • To be able to work in a dynamic environment. 

  • Experience of workflow management software to track on-site works.
